Edward Bruce was always known as Bruce and in 1953 married Elaine Horsey at Burwood, New South Wales.
As with Bruce, Shirley was always known as Joy, and she married Ronald George Shields in 1954 also at Burwood. They moved to a sheep property between Cobar and Hillston in the New South Wales far west where Joy died in 1975.
